Kavli Prize Week is both a biennial celebration of science as well as an opportunity for dialogues on significant research in the fields of astrophysics, nanoscience and neuroscience. Held primarily in Oslo, its signature event is the Kavli Prize Ceremony, held in honor of the year's Kavli Prize Laureates.

Science Journalists’ Dinner

National and international journalists and editors - including the recipients of the Kavli Prize Scholarships for Science Journalists - are invited to a journalist dinner at the Academy.

Information Session at Grand Hotel

This is an opportunity for all guests to meet the organizers and ask questions.
We will go through the list of events taking place, dress code, transport details. This will be an opportunity to learn more about Norwegian etiquette, the Banquet and the Award Ceremony.

S/S Helena was built at Moen Båtbyggeri in Risør in 1946. She is a large, solid vessel, built in wood, constructed according to all the principles associated with the art of shipbuilding.

The Kavli Prize Reception

The Norwegian Academy of Science and Letters and The Kavli Foundation invites select guests to a reception at the Academy to meet the Laureates and talk. This is an informal event with food and wine being served. Guests can look forward to a musical number in the Tapestry Hall during the reception.

The highlight of Kavli Prize Week, this extraordinary event is a celebration of science and the arts, held at the Oslo Concert Hall – one of the most important cultural institutions of Norway.
